License Suspension Appeals The
State provides certain privileges for citizens in which
a license to enjoy that privilege is issued. The two most
common privilege licenses are a driver's license
and a concealed handgun license. As a result of
certain criminal charges, the State through the Texas
Department of Public Safety can move to suspend or revoke
these privileges. By contesting or appealing the license
suspension or revocation, the license holder may fight
back and seek to maintain that license. We can file the
notice of appeal and on many occasions prevent the State
from suspending or revoking these privileges.
Professional licenses are required for many people
who engage in particular professions including: doctors,
nurses, chiropractors, teachers, realtors, and police
officers. These professionals have devoted a significant
amount of time and money into investing in themselves
and their profession. To practice in that profession,
they hold a state or local license. Sometimes, that license
is threatened with suspension or revocation. If the agency
is successful in suspending or revoking that license,
that professional and his or her family suffer from a
loss of income and a potential change in careers.
When an administrative or professional license is faced
with potential revocation or suspension, our firm will
zealously investigate the allegations which threaten that
license. We will file the appropriate paperwork, and if
necessary, appear on our client's behalf at a hearing
to contest the suspension or revocation.
When dealing with administrative and professional licenses,
please be aware that very strict and short time limits
apply to appealing that suspension or revocation; therefore,
it is extremely important that you contact a lawyer immediately
upon notice of suspension or revocation.
